Yukon dirt roads

A preview of my adventure off-road near Whitehorse, Yukon.

Five of us decided to have fun, we enter a dirt road a few miles north of Whitehorse, along the Alaska Highway, and follow it for about 30 miles to a beautiful lake at the end of the road.  We had lots of fun.

Calcium chloride is used on the roads to control the dust but on this day there was no dust, there was a lot of rain and mud which made the roads very slippery and my bike very dirty.

More to follow....

  3. I've never ridden in mud, but it sure looks like fun. I am looking forward to the rest of the 'movie'.

    1. There's mud and then there's Yukon or Alaska mud, the Calcium Chloride makes it very slippery

I was amazed at how you ripped along through the mud! Quite frankly, my preference would have been the road to the playground. What a great adventure! Did you get front wheel slip on the mud?

    1. In the video I'm doing about 60mph in the mud sections, at times I was doing more. You can see a little twitch on the camera on the second mud section, that's the front wheel slipping, it's enough to make your heart beat a little faster
