No point in keeping them just for myself.GFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08254196892811043203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-575417631109784818.post-54786223984352357232013-11-10T00:26:30.029-05:002013-11-10T00:26:30.029-05:00George such spectacular scenery ... the photograph...George such spectacular scenery ... the photographs from your trip continue to amaze me, though many of the roads looked a bit less than hospitable, possibly the reason for so many crashes. Glad you were not part of the statistics and are able to share this amazing journey.VStar Ladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13634216576989421497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-575417631109784818.post-68413703331895503152013-11-04T21:00:46.801-05:002013-11-04T21:00:46.801-05:00Trash cans? hadn't seen one in a long time ;-)...Trash cans? hadn't seen one in a long time ;-)
Yea, barely survived the mosquitoes GFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08254196892811043203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-575417631109784818.post-72027135198422635572013-11-04T14:51:50.205-05:002013-11-04T14:51:50.205-05:00It looks like you had found a decent camping area ...It looks like you had found a decent camping area and being near the road, it was probably safe enough. And as long as there were no trash cans around, it probably was safe enough from bears. I probably wouldn't have tried to make it in one trip especially if the weather was marginal. But it looks like you had a great time and survived being the only warm blooded animal in the area. When I took the photo about a quarter of the way up the first hill it had slowed a little so we took the opportunity to at least get a photo with my crappy camera. What do you think of us camping 60 miles before Prudhoe Bay? crazy?GFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08254196892811043203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-575417631109784818.post-64518138533765348202013-11-04T14:25:33.723-05:002013-11-04T14:25:33.723-05:00Yea, the first pictures are beautiful and I got so...Yea, the first pictures are beautiful and I got some nice ones on the way back. On the way back I was alone halfway, will explain later ;-)
It's weird getting inside the tent at 11:30 and there's still light outside, it's a fantastic experience.GFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08254196892811043203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-575417631109784818.post-88850784280656217692013-11-04T12:04:16.737-05:002013-11-04T12:04:16.737-05:00beautiful photographs. I had only been through there in the winter and have always been disappointed at how poorly you can see the steepness of the road and the cliffs. In the winter, there is the additional problem of walls of snow 20' high along some parts of the pass. Hard to get a good perspective.

I've never been farther north than Toolik Lake Field Camp just north of Galbraith Lake. Probably south of where you camped.RichardMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04773834892715980735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-575417631109784818.post-14344877289610840722013-11-04T12:00:11.210-05:002013-11-04T12:00:11.210-05:00Such rich vibrant colors in those photos. Stunning.

Hard to believe the sunshine and blue sky pictures was after 10 pm. That is still foreign to me no matter how many times Richard blogs about the sun not setting.Trobairitzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03453398807198746434noreply@blogger.com
